Hi, I'm Jamie. I am happy you are here.

Let’s just name it- our culture does not make it easy to have a connected relationship with food and our bodies. If we are told our only access to safety, respect and care is through shrinking (in every way possible), it makes sense why so many of us become disconnected from ourselves. If our belonging and safety feels dependent on having a certain body, anything other than “the ideal” may feel terrifying.

I work alongside clients who are wanting to reclaim their energy from disordered eating, diet culture, body shame, and weight stigma. If you are feeling curious or ready to relinquish self abandonment for a more embodied, kind relationship with your body and food, I’d love to hear from you.

“If I didn’t define myself, I would be crunched into other’s peoples fantasies for me and eaten alive.”

- Audre Lorde

If you had the opportunity to define yourself, what would freedom and healing look like to you?

That’s what I am interested in.

Could it be:

  • On difficult body/eating days, tending to yourself rather than turning on yourself?

  • Less shame, less masking, and more permission around what eating and nourished means for you?

  • Going on that trip? Being in the pictures?

  • Untangling the anti-fat messages to find out what feels real and true for you?

  • Finding more community who support and get you?

  • Setting boundaries with family, friends, and loved ones when it comes to your body?

  • “I seriously don’t know but I know that I want something different than now”

Many of those I work with have faced trauma, shame, and discrimination based on how their bodies exist in the world. In a disordered culture where certain bodies are safer than others and some bodies are targeted more than others- part of our work is acknowledging and honoring how our intersecting identities have contributed to if we even feel safe taking up space, how we feel in our bodies, and how we feed ourselves. This process includes honoring the ways you have learned to take care of yourself within this disordered system.

I love when a client comes into a consultation and says, “I’m just so over IT!” - IT being- always trying the next diet, to shrink their voice, their bodies, their joy, their expression, their permission, themselves- basically trying to contort themselves into systems that were never built for them to begin with.

Our work creates space for parts of you that have felt too big, too small, or never enough far too long.

Eating disorders and weight stigma are not personal failures—they are symptoms of a disordered society that values thinness over humanity. To be clear - your body is not the problem.

My approach

My approach is relational, fat positive and body liberation aligned. I draw from practices such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Health at Every Size (HAES), Body Trust, Embodied Recovery for Eating Disorders, and feminist theory. We will dig into the hard stuff together at a pace that feels sustainable for you. Together, we aim for flexibility and curiosity over shaming. If you’re willing to be curious, to practice sitting with discomfort and interested in getting to the root of things - this is the work I love to do.

My focus areas

  • Binge Eating Disorder and disordered eating patterns

  • Fat acceptance and body liberation aligned therapy

  • Ending the self abandonment cycle

  • Breaking free from chronic dieting

  • Health at Every Size (HAES) principles

  • Navigating food and body struggles with ADHD

  • Building boundaries and advocating for yourself in a weight-biased world

  • Body Trust

In our work - You are the boss of your own body.

As a therapist, I strive to create a space where your autonomy and voice are central and not just another place where you feel like you are getting it wrong. We still live in a world where anti-fat bias is something people navigate everyday. It makes so much sense that there are going to be times, days, and weeks when your relationship fluctuates and things feel difficult or maybe even completely awful. Wherever you are on this journey, we start there. This is your road.

A bit about me

This was my personal work long before it was my professional work. And I still navigate anti-fat bias as a fat person everyday. But I’ve experienced that a kinder, more expansive relationship is possible and continues to be when all my energy isn’t spent trying to war against myself and my body.

Our paths will be different but I get certain things because I’ve been there. I can attest to the fact that. “Just love yourself” is wildly missing the point. I’m not here to tell you what healing looks and feels like for you. What I do know is that there are so many valid ways to be in a body- and that every single body is worthy and deserving of respect, dignity, and care- yours included.

When not in therapy with clients, I can often be found catching a sunset, dancing to whatever is on, bumping into something, and adding to my cozy magical realism TBR list!
