Welcome! I'm April and I can’t wait to get to know you better - exactly as you are.

We’ve never met, but I’m guessing some parts (or all) of your life feel incredibly hard right now. Maybe it's been like this for a few months, or a few years, or for as long as you can remember. Wherever you’re coming from, and whatever you've been through, I want you to know this:

  • You’re welcomed, wanted, and valued exactly as you are.

  • You’re not your trauma or your disorder.

  • You’re capable and worthy of healing and recovery, at your own pace, and I’d be honored to support you along the way.

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I help individuals struggling with eating disorders and/or trauma to find healing and wholeness. By holding a non-judgmental and compassionate space for you, I create a supportive environment where you can feel safe, understood, and empowered on your journey toward growth and recovery.

I bring professional expertise and a deep understanding that comes from experiencing, and healing from, my own trauma and eating disorder. This helps me offer effective strategies combined with deep compassion, creating a safe space where you can feel understood and supported on your path to healing.

What I bring…

Meeting you where you are

My strength lies in meeting you where you are; whether that means digging into trauma and identifying coping skills or sitting on the floor or outside, playing a game, or providing space to vent or cry.

Prioritizing needs

I prioritize your in-the-moment needs and hold space for them. I believe offering a compassionate presence is just as important in the recovery process as tackling big goals.

Lived experience

Having experienced intense trauma firsthand and recovered from my own eating disorder, I bring a deep understanding of the feelings and thoughts you may have.

Deep passion and commitment

This work isn’t a job for me; it’s who I am. Listening, supporting, nurturing - it’s my purpose in life. This passion comes through in my unconditional acceptance, authentic presence and my commitment to your healing.

My approach

I don't follow a recovery formula or push you to meet certain goals. Our therapy process is guided entirely by you— your needs, challenges, process, and goals. Meeting you right where you are means that the therapy journey is varied, unique, and completely tailored to you.

A typical therapy journey may include:

  • Trauma-informed methods

  • Art therapy

  • Play therapy

  • EMDR

  • Mindfulness
