Safe & Sound Protocol

Reset your nervous system

Rewire your brain

Rediscover your center

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, panicky, and unsettled?

Are you chronically exhausted, burned out, or unable to take action towards your life desires?

Are you fluctuating erratically between these two states on a daily basis?

Is this disrupting your relationship with food and your body, harming your ability to care for yourself, or impacting your personal relationships?

It may be time to reset your nervous system.

Our nervous system is the foundation of well-being.

Well-being is the ability to become fearful, anxious or depressed and then return to an internal feeling of safety and connection. This flexibility leads to emotional resilience.

However, your nervous system must be founded on safety to access this flexibility.

What does it mean to be 'founded on safety'?

The safety we're talking about is not a cognitive experience, rather it is an embodied experience. It exists on a subconscious level, which refers to how you experience the world through your senses.

Feeling safe in an embodied sense means...

  • you have the capacity to ride the waves of big emotions and sensations

  • you have the ability to return to positive emotions such as relief, gratitude, empowerment, or joy

  • you are aware of your body's experience and can respond in a manner that increases a sense of safety and connection

Sometimes, traumatic life experiences mean your basic wiring is on the defense, and you interpret your world as scary or dangerous.

You end up feeling unsettled in your essence and struggle to find, and maintain, a sense of calm and peace - no matter how hard you try. You may feel shut down, perpetually depressed or anxious - even after therapy or treatment.

 The Safe and Sound Protocol
A 3 month journey to rewire your nervous system from the inside out

What is the Safe and Sound Protocol?

Our nervous system is designed to protect us from danger. When it senses danger, it sets off the fight, flight or freezes response and the body goes into high alert ready to find safety from threats. This is healthy, positive and life-saving.

Sometimes, our brain gets it wrong. It interprets harmless events as dangerous, and we end up in a constant state of anxiety or high alert. This often occurs when trauma happens in early childhood or is repeated over a long period of time. Highly sensitive people who are attuned to be very sensitive to stimuli are susceptible to this experience.

This happens on a subconscious level. Even if logically we know we are safe, we are "wired" or "primed" to feel anxious, depressed or overwhelmed as we exist in a constant state of danger. Our brains are stuck in a dangerous feedback loop, and we don't know how to stop it.

You can’t think your way into safety.

We need something to interrupt this feedback loop.

The nervous system wants to be oriented to safety and connection.

SSP allows us to uncover the pathway.

The Safe and Sound Protocol interrupts and redirects that physiological feedback loop with cues of safety. Safety cues help shift the nervous system out of chronic defense and high-alert into a safe and connected state.

It does this by stimulating the neural networks associated with listening using filtered music focusing on the frequency range of the human voice. Through this mechanism, the SSP alters the way sounds are interpreted, and moves the nervous system from a state of defense and into a state of safety, connection and regulation. Resetting your brain's wiring from the bottom up allows you to develop resilience and flexibility to tolerate and handle what life brings.
